What Will You be Known for?

We all have journeys in life. We have lived experiences.  We have families, and we have friends. As we process life and our interactions with it, we develop beliefs, gain wisdom and deepen our understanding. We go to work, and go about our day, and sometimes we’re oblivious to bigger things around us.

As we mature and gain greater perspectives in our lives, things change – we change.

What defines you? Who defines you? What are you known for?

Whatever we do in life, there are ripples of energy and influence that flow out from our interactions. Sometimes we are aware of the effects we have on others and the consequences that follow. Other times, we cannot immediately see or feel the effects.

There is a humility that comes with weathering the storms, situations and challenges in life. We are shown our perfectly imperfect ways and our place in the grand scheme of things. We also learn that as we mature, heal and grow into our best selves, that we are One with all Life and interconnected with all beings always.

Maya Angelou: "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

This beautiful quote from Maya Angelou reminds us that it is profoundly important that we always treat people with respect, kindness and compassion. People will remember.

When all is said and done, it doesn’t matter how much money you have, where you live, what you wear or what you do for a living. Your lasting impact will be how you treat others.

We can’t take responsibility for how others experience our interactions, but we can and must assume responsibility for the intentions behind our words and actions. People will have their own history, own beliefs and own understanding based on their life challenges and experiences. We can only be our best selves in connection with others and trust the process that unfolds. This is why it’s paramount that we reach into our hearts and respond with empathy and integrity.

When leaving a person, job or situation that no longer resonates with you, you must try to be the high-frequency soul that you are born and leave people better than you found them.

Be known as a fair, decent, kind and authentic soul regardless of whether people like you. Leave a heart print that allows all involved to expand into greater potential and possibilities.
