Stronger
Are you strong? Do you feel stronger than yesterday? What does it take to be strong in the world these days? If you don’t think you are strong, what is missing? What does it mean to you to be strong?
When you look up the definition of strength – almost all the references are to physical strength. We are so much more than our physical bodies yet; physical is the one we tend to lean into the most. Being physically strong is important to maintain flexibility and stability in this world. Whether you go to the gym regularly, participate in sports, or do your own version of strength training – our muscles are paramount to providing the strength needed to navigate life physically and remain independent.
We also need mental strength to be holistically healthy. Building mental strength keeps our minds active and continuously evolving. We can do puzzles, word games, math questions, logical sequences, a whole host of mental gymnastics to help us gain and maintain the mental energy, clarity and strength we need to ride the waves of life through challenges and circumstances beyond our control. Mental strength includes the ability to think for ourselves and research what does not resonate with our souls.
Emotional strength keeps us centred and balanced overall. Life’s situations keep us rolling through the emotions that arise as we face life every day. Building the resiliency to ride the waves of challenges as they arise, is of utmost importance to our overall health. If we don’t incorporate the emotional component of our being, it won’t matter how physically strong we are – life will eventually bowl us over. The spectrum of emotions arising, such as joy, happiness, frustration, anger, etc. are the richness – the fullness of our being human. The ability to feel deeply in life is both a gift and a curse at times. We reach the highest highs and the lowest lows in emotional health. While the highs tend to feel much better and more inviting, it’s important that we also recognize, acknowledge, feel and work to heal the lows. Life is all of it.
Connection is our spiritual strength. Feeling connected to God, Source, the Universe, whatever you call that higher power, is our life force energy. The spark of the Divine lives within us & we tend to forget that piece and spend years searching for answers outside ourselves – while the irony is – that Source lives within us. Our work becomes moving inward over and over again to remember our Truth and gain the spiritual strength to overcome any obstacle in life.
In a life well-lived, we must incorporate all aspects of our strength – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Omitting any aspect of ourselves will lessen the fullness of our lives and eventually create situations that drag us back to reveal what is missing.
How are you feeling now about your strength? What, if anything, is missing? Are you ready to dive into all of who you are and all of who you can reveal through knowing yourself better and integrating all aspects of you?
You are strong! You are enough! Dive in and see for yourself!
